Chapter 3
The Invisible Enemy
“Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering… the diamond… the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and gold… thou art the anointed cherub that covereth… thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.” Ezekiel 28:13-14.
The plan for a new world order is nothing new. It was formulated at the Tower of Babel, a little over four thousand years ago.
Nimrod, the great grandson of Noah, built “a great tower whose top reached unto heaven”. 1 Instead of migrating throughout the earth, Cush and his son Nimrod, convinced the majority of the people to remain in the land of Shinar “lest (they) be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.” 2
The name Nimrod means ‘rebellion’, indicating an extremely impious rebel against God, one who wished to elevate himself above His Creator. The building of a tower extending to the heavens was to formulate a false religion that deified the sun. 3
Although these men had plans of their own, they were actually carrying out the dictates of the Great Deceiver who stood in the ‘shadows’ of evil – Satan himself.
Satan was also a rebel, and part of a controversy that began in heaven between himself and God. He had been honoured as the highest angel, sitting near the throne of God, and known to the heavenly host as Lucifer. On the right side of the throne sat God the Son, equal in every way to the Most High God. 4
Lucifer’s name meant ‘the shining one’, or ‘the son of the morning’, reflecting the glory of God. 5
He had been holy and happy in heaven, until something began to change.
Created a perfect being, Lucifer was innocent in all his ways until his heart was “lifted up” by his beauty. Although made without the taint of sin, for some mysterious reason, he “corrupted (his) wisdom by reason of his brightness”, and sinned against God. 6
Once sin had taken hold of his heart, he became Satan, the devil, who said in his heart,
“I WILL EXALT my throne above the stars of God…
I WILL ASCEND above the heights…
I WILL BE like the Most High.” 7
The greatest area of contention in Lucifer’s rebellious life was the supremacy given to the Son of God. Why should He be seated on the right of the throne of the Almighty? Why should He be so highly honoured?
Why should the angelic host worship Him?
Why did they not bow to Lucifer? After all, he was the highest angel. Was he not the ‘covering cherub’, the only angel whose wings overshadowed the throne of God?
“Little by little Lucifer came to indulge the desire for self-exaltation… Though all his glory was from God, this mighty angel came to regard it as pertaining to himself. Not content with his position, though honored above the heavenly host, he ventured to covet homage due alone to the Creator…
Now the perfect harmony of heaven was broken…
Leaving his place in the immediate presence of the Father, Lucifer went forth to diffuse the spirit of discontent among the angels. He worked with mysterious secrecy, and for a time concealed his real purpose under an appearance of reverence for God…. and so artfully (did he) instil into their minds his own distrust and discontent that his agency was not discerned.” 8
As a result of insinuating among the heavenly angels, Satan gained a following, but finally it was necessary for God to cast him out of heaven for rebellion. He took one third of the angels with him. 9
The remaining loyal angels rejoiced that Satan had been banished from heaven, but upon earth the devil and his host began to seduce our first parents. Sad to say, they succeeded, and for this reason they are permitted to dwell here.
Said the prophet, “Rejoice ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them; woe to the inhabiters of the earth, for the devil has come down to you, having great wrath…” 10
Satan knew he would have only six thousand years in which to draw mankind away from its allegiance to God, and today he is going about “as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour”, for he knows he has a short time left. 11
The devil and his evil angels are hovering around us at this very moment, but being angelic beings, they live in another realm, and are therefore invisible to us. They are not flesh and blood, but have supernatural powers we do not possess.
“We wrestle against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” 12
We need to be constantly on our guard.
The religion introduced into Babel by Nimrod was planned by Satan to deceive the human race. A world government and a world religion would provide him opportunity to manipulate the entire population into bowing in adoration before him.
In choosing the sun as the deity to be worshipped, Satan was telling men and women that he was the source of light, when in reality, his name had only portrayed the reflected light of the glory of God. As men and women lifted their heads to the skies in adoration of the sun, they worshipped Satan unawares.
As work on the Tower of Babel progressed, Nimrod became more and more defiant. He would establish a religion to counterwork the truth of God, and thus deceive earth’s inhabitants.
God must retard the work, or the light of truth would be extinguished from the earth. Descending personally to the building site, God the Son confounded the language, and the people were scattered abroad.
In spite of this setback, the spirit of Babel lived on, and Nimrod, who was worshipped as a god, kept the religion alive.
His tower was to have been the ‘gate of god’ (Bab = ‘gate, el = ‘god’), but it became a gateway that led to the ‘confusion’ of false gods, sensual pleasure and degradation. 13
Suddenly, in his prime, Nimrod was killed.
News of this tragedy spread abroad, and loud wails ascended from one and all. This mourning of Nimrod has been passed down through the centuries, and even Israel “wept for Tammuz” many years later. 14
Semiramis decreed that the spirit of Nimrod had ascended to the sun, and bowing before it, they worshipped their departed ‘god’.
Some time later, Nimrod’s beautiful, but promiscuous wife, was inspired by Satan with an idea that would give the religion great impetus for all time. It was a masterpiece of deception.
In due time Semiramis announced the news – the spirit of Nimrod had descended from the sun, and she would bear a child by her sun-god husband. Not only would Nimrod be the father, he would also be the resurrected, incarnate son. 15
Of course, the conception was regarded as miraculous, and Semiramis was called Alma Mater – ‘the Virgin Mother’.
The son was called, the Zero-ashta – the ‘seed of the woman’, and the mother, the ‘Virgin of Salvation.’ 16
The conception of the child took place on the first Sunday from the first full moon after the Vernal Equinox, when the length of the day and night are equal. It became the Feast of Ishtar (Astarte or Eostre). 17
History informs us that Semiramis gave birth to a child on December 25th, the festival of the Winter Solstice, when the sun ‘turns’ in its course towards the longer days of summer. This was a time of great rejoicing, as the figurative birth-day of the sun in the renewal of its course. 18
The birth of Tammuz, a name representing both father and son, ‘sanctified’ December 25th as the birth-day of the ‘grand Deliverer’. Other names he was given were ‘the Lord’, ‘the Mediator’, ‘the Saviour’, ‘the Lord of the Covenant’, and well as many titles that are obviously Christian terms. 19
Semiramis gained glory from her dead and deified husband, and in the course of time, both of them, ‘Mother and Son’, were worshipped as the personification of the Sun-god’. 21
Images of the mother and child were set up everywhere, and adored. 20
In Babylon, Semiramis was also called Mylitta (or Melitta) – ‘the Mediatrix’; Sacca (or Sacta) – ‘the Tabernacle’. In Egypt she was Athor – ‘the Habitation of God’. 21
Upon one of the Egyptian temples was written, “I am all that has been, or that is, or that shall be. No Normal has removed my veil. The fruit of which I have brought forth is the Sun.” 22
Devotees of all heathen religions have worshipped Semiramis and Nimrod, as a mother and son, under many different names. In Babylon they were also known as Rhea and Nin.
In Greece the mother with child were called Persephone and Dionysus (or Bacchus), as well as Ceres and baby, or Irene and Plutas. In Sumer they were known as Inanna and Dumuzi; in Egypt – Orisis (or Isis) and Horus, also Amon and Khons; in India – Isi and Iswara, and Devaki and Krishna; in China – Shin Moo and child; in Syria – Venus and Adonis; Teutonic – Odin and Frigga; in Rome – Fortuna and Jupiter. In New Zealand the Maoris have Taranga and Maui with their Tiki-Tiki.. 23

“Semiramis was worshipped as the Great Mother Goddess, the Queen of Heaven, the goddess of all impurity; the goddess of Love and Sex, and as Athena, the goddess of Wisdom.” 24
In Greece she is the pagan goddess Aphrodite, the goddess of exciting sexual desires 25
Satan’s intention has been to continue this form of worship into the 20th century, to deceive the whole world into accepting it as truth.
But it is a lie.
It is spiritism; it is the worship of Satan.
A one world religion and a one world government are both necessary to bring Satan’s plans for his own exaltation to fruition.
He failed at the Tower of Babel.
He has tried many times since, but each one has failed.
However, in these last days, the devil does not intend to fail. He has worked for centuries bringing about every conceivable deception, and he is determined nothing will go wrong this time.
“There are few who have any just conception of the deceptive power of spiritism and the danger of coming under its influence. Many tamper with it merely to gratify their curiosity. They have no real faith in it and would be filled with horror at the thought of yielding themselves to the spirits’ control. But they venture upon the forbidden ground, and the mighty deceiver exercises his power upon them against their will. Let them once be induced to submit their minds to his direction, and he holds them captive.
It is impossible in their own strength, to break away from the bewitching, alluring spell. Nothing but the power of God, granted in answer to the earnest prayer of faith, can deliver these ensnared souls.” 26
The Babylonian Mysteries are demonic.
They are portrayed as something beautiful, but in their fullness are degrading sex rites, orgies, pleasure to the extreme, numerology, serpent worship, astrology, human sacrifices, divination, necromancy, and other occult practices. 27
Never underestimate the power of Satan.
“Satan has long been preparing for his final effort to deceive the world…. Little by little he has prepared the way for his masterpiece of deception in the development of spiritism. He has not yet reached the full accomplishment of his designs; but it will be reached in the last remnant of time.” 28
That time is upon us now.
Sun worship has come down from those early days, and many nations have worshipped the ‘god of Light’. The Persian kings were called the One rising together with the Sun. 29
“Soon after the death of Alexander the Great, a certain Alexarchus declared himself to be the sun’s incarnation. Monarchs of the successor-states began to wear its crown of rays…
Sol was linked in inscriptions with the fire-goddess Vesta, who was analogous to the power worshipped at Persian fire-altars. The god’s radiate-crowned personi-fication appears on Republican and early imperial coins… Nero set a precedent for centuries by giving his coin-portraits the radiate crown of Greek monarchs.” 30
Succeeding emperors of Rome advanced further in their worship of the sun. “Gallienus proposed to dominate the city, from the highest point of the Esquiline Hill, with a colossal statue of himself as the Sun… Aurelian, whose mother was a priestess of the Sun, established a massive and strongly subsidised cult of Sol Invictus, endowing him with a resplendent Roman temple, and instituting on the model of ancient priestly colleges… a new college of Priests of the Sun. The birthday of the god was to be 25th December…
Aurelian restored the temple at Palmyra, and, interpreting its deity as a form of Sol Invictus, adorned his own Roman temple of the Sun with statues not only of Helios-Sol, but also of Belos or Baal.” 31
This emperor officially proclaimed the solar deity as ‘Sol Dominus Imperii Romani’ – the Sun, Lord of the Roman Empire. This solar title repeatedly appears on his coinage. 32
Later, the emperor Constantine claimed to have seen a vision at Milvian Bridge. It was “a cross athwart the Sun… and on the sculptures of the Arch of Constantine at Rome, the old gods have gone but the Sun still remains; the emperor is represented between the rising Sun and Moon, and the victory-giving figure is the Sun-god… An inscription describes Constantine himself as the Sun who sees all.” 33
Even in subsequent years, when he professed Christianity, Constantine is still seen in his speeches “with a circumambient halo resembling rays of light”, and when his great statue was erected at the central point of the new capital at Constantinople, “it portrayed him as Apollo-Helios, wearing the Sun’s radiate Crown.” He believed the crown was fashioned from ‘the nails of the true Cross’, and he saw himself as ‘the Vice regent of Christ’. 34
“In his own mysterious way, Constantine seems to have worshipped Sun and Christ at the same time, or regarded them as interchangeable, assimilating the Christian faith into an inherited solar tradition as Aurelian had assimilated the Sun into the traditions of Rome.” 35
He had coinage inscribed to Apollo, Mithra and the Invincible Sun. For example, on one coin was found the phrase: SOLI INVICTO MITHRAE – to the Invincible Sun, Mithra. On another, SOLI INVICTO COMITI – to the Invincible Sun, the Unconquerable Companion.
“Sun-worship appealed to the learned with their taste for the abstract, but less erudite invocations to local manifestations of the god shows that these intellectuals had no monopoly.” 37
“The chief masculine deity of every nation, which was the chief object of their idolatrous worship, is in every case to be identified with the sun.” 38
Only a few of the hottest regions of the world have regarded the Sun as diabolical. “Elsewhere men from the remotest periods of antiquity concluded from their divinisation of nature, and confirmed afresh each day, that they should greet its orb as a beneficent deity.” 39
Below is a prayer, complete with sun, called ‘The Great Invocation’. It could have been written for the intellectuals of Greece or Rome in days gone by, but it is actually a 20th century World Prayer sponsored by ‘an international movement of like minds’ – the New Age Movement. 40
From the point of light within the mind of God, let light stream forth into the minds of men, Let light descend on earth.
From the point of love within the heart of God, let love stream forth into the hearts of men, May Christ return to earth.
From the centre where the will of God is known, let purpose guide the little wills of men, the purpose which the masters know and serve.
From the centre which we call the race of men, let the plan of love and light work out -- and may it seal the door where evil dwells. Let light and love and power restore the plan on earth.
While the sun continues to shine above, the Great Deceiver will use it to draw the unwary to himself, as the one who falsely claims to be its light.
Two great deceptions are being perpetrated by him today that are deceiving millions. One is the elevation of the sun in religious worship. The following chorus of a ‘Christian’ hymn reveals this outright idolatry. “When I fall on my knees, with my face to the rising sun, O Lord have mercy upon me”.
The other deception is the amazing appearance of Semiramis before men, women and children, especially to the children. This too is deceiving millions.
Soon there will be a mighty revelation of this ‘queen of heaven’ involving the sun in its daylight brilliance, and if Satan has his way, it will be dramatic.
When you are confronted by this miracle, will you be deceived?
Will you fall for the devil’s false religion?

‘The Meaning of Christmas, Easter and Lent’ George Burnside. From other towers built later, such as ziggurats, which were dedicated to the sun, we can safely assume that Nimrod’s tower was also dedicated to the sun. All over the world, the religion of Nimrod has travelled, and there is always sun worship involved in it.
We do know that Satan hates Christ, and also know that Christ is seated on the right hand of God now. We assume He has always resided there. Knowing that Lucifer was the highest angel, the ‘covering cherub’, meaning a relationship close to the Father, we can well accept that he became jealous of the Son of God. The Hebrew for Lucifer is Heylel, meaning a sense of brightness. It is interesting that the root word is Halal, meaning to shine, to be clear, to make a show, and included in its meaning is to boast.
Ezekiel 28:12.17. Note that the prince of Tyrus is addressed, but ini further verses, the information fits Lucifer more than the earthly king of Tyre. It has a dual application both to Tyrus and Lucifer. The king had become in character like Satan, and God was warning him as well as giving a history of Lucifer’s fall and final punishment. All who act like Satan will be punished with him in the lake of fire.

The prayer was taken from New Age literature and it is exactly as it was found, including the sun above it. This prayer is to Satan, although many do not realise it. The mentioned of Christ in the prayer is not Jesus Christ, but the cosmic christ, or Lord Matreiya.
