Noah’s Ark Found!
When Ron Wyatt, an American who had long desired to find Noah’s Ark, saw a photograph in the September 1960 issue of Life Magazine, he thought it looked like the ark. However, it was many years before he was able to go and see for himself.
A team of ark-aeologists had arrived some years before Ron, and after blasting a hole in the object, they concluded it was a natural formation. Ron did not agree and when he saw it in 1977, he believed it was Noah’s ark.
However, when he returned from Turkey, he felt discouraged, for although he believed he had found the ark, it was submerged in the ground, making the job too big for him to do any excavations. But he prayed, ‘Lord, will you send an earthquake to bring the ark out of the ground sufficiently to be able to excavate it?’
His prayer was answered, and on November 25, 1978, an earthquake pushed the ark up, its walls approximately 20 feet above the ground.
Soon Ron was back in Turkey, anxious to excavate.
Various samples were taken back to America for testing. The carbon content of the soil from the boat tested at 4.95%, while the soil from the field around it tested at 1.88%. The metal content of the soil around the boat showed no metal at all, whereas a metal detector gave positive readings on the boat itself.
Metal rivets were found, believed to be in regular intervals throughout the boat. It is obvious they were forced into their place by heat, as the metal has splayed, holding the rivet tight in its place.
“Analysis of the rivet showed it to be an alloy of titanium, aluminium, iron and other metals…. Though the carbon amount was small, the difference between the rivet and the adjacent material is more than a thousand percent – actually 1,350%. This shows a distinct difference in material, according to the lab notes. This would be consistent with the presence of fossilised wood surrounding the rivet.” The Ark Conspiracy by Jonathan Gray p40.
Using a subsurface interface radar scanner, Ron discovered many positive iron readings. Tapes were laid out during the testing and rocks placed on the tapes at the point where the detector gave readings for iron.
Found: Noah's Ark
While watching a sculptor working with limestone, a suggestion was made that the limestone was caused by the flood of Noah. Her response was, ‘Well, there are shells in it’. And it is true, limestone wherever it is found, has shells in great numbers.
“All over the world, huge boulders, some up to 16,000 tonnes (18,000 US tons) in weight, were lifted and carried long distances. In Europe, some were hurled 610 metres (2,001 feet) up on to the Juru Mountains, where they now sit. Others were swept from Finland to Moscow as though they were pebbles. Many others landed on what are now isolated islands.” Ibid p7.
For months the storm raged. The mighty waves wore down the earth’s surface, each wave returning with its debris. At the same time thousands of volcanoes spewed out their lava under the ocean, while winds swept them up to enormous heights.
Travelling long distances under water, fast moving currents of suspended mud and sand spread out over thousands of square miles. This ebb and flow laid down successive strata, alternately burying land organisms and water creatures, which ultimately became fossils
Noah and his family were in the ark for 377 days. Of this time, it rained forty days and forty nights and the waters continued to rise for another 150 days. It took another five and a half months for the waters to disappear from the earth, but two more months before the ground was dry at a deep level for man and animals to leave the ark. During this time, vegetation would have begun to grow, giving food for the animals when they came out of the ark.
The ark landed on the “mountains of Ararat” on the seventeenth day of the seventh month. Genesis 8:4.
Many believe its resting-place was on Greater Mount Ararat, a high volcanic mountain in the same area, 16-20 kilometres (10-12 miles) away. However, this is not the picture given in the Bible. Instead, it is on a hill in the mountainous range of Urartu, a word from the same root as Ararat.
Scans were made in ‘three dimension’ – lengthwise, crosswise and laterally along the side. Pieces of the wood were taken to a laboratory and found to be laminated layers. “Samples of petrified wood have been located and taken from the structure in the presence of many witnesses.
In addition to previous tests, I (Ron Wyatt) have additional samples that have metal brackets and rust, which were videod as they were retrieved from the boat.” Discovered: Noah’s Ark by Ron Wyatt p12.
Is this really Noah’s ark?
God had said, ‘Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: the length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
A window shalt thou make in the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.” Genesis 6:14-16.
The length of the boat on Urartu is 157 metres (515 feet). (A small portion has broken off, but this has been calculated and included in the measurement) A royal Egyptian cubit, which Moses would have used is 52.324 centimetres (20.6 inches). These calculations show that the length of the boat is identical with the Bible measurement. Its width or height cannot be accurately measured because of collapse and splaying. (Figures rounded)
What does this Discovery mean to Mankind?
Agnostics, atheists and other ‘scoffers’ have said, ‘Where is the promise of His (Christ’s) coming, for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.” 2 Peter 2:4. But “all things” have not continued without interruption.
Since the finding of Noah’s ark, the scoffer cannot remain “willingly ignorant of (the fact) that by the Word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water, whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished….” 2 Peter 3:5.
Even the Turkish government has accepted it as the true historical ark. They acknowledged Ron Wyatt publicly for his scientific research and made him the honoured guest at its dedication. Today it is a tourist attraction.
As long as the remembrance of this huge boat in the ranges of Urartu remains in the minds of men and women, there can be no doubt that the vengeance of God is real, and “if God spared not the angels that sinned… and spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly…. making them an ensample (type) unto those that after should live ungodly lives…. how much will he spare you, if you live like them?” 2 Peter 2:4-6.
Noah’s ark speaks to all mankind of a judgment soon to come, when “the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men…
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up….” 2 Peter 3:7.10.
The destruction at the end of the world will be by fire.
In Noah’s day, the flood caused millions of tonnes of vegetation to be buried, and today these are fossil fuels of oil, gas and coal. Men may say fossil fuels will run out, but this can not be, for God has reserved them for the final judgment in the last day.
“And they (the lost) went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city; and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.” Revelation 20:9.
The deluge that destroyed the world in Noah’s day did not only fall as rain from the sky, but the “fountains of the great deep were broken up”. Thus there was water from beneath and water from above.
At the destruction of the wicked, fire will come from above, and fire will come from below. It will be an incredible inferno. The oil and coal will ignite and volcanoes will spue out their lava, both below the ocean and above it. The sea will evaporate and there will be a “lake of fire” that will cover the whole earth. “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:15. This is the second death.
What about the righteous?
They will be in the holy city of God, the New Jerusalem. It will also be on this earth, but the flames of hell will not touch them.
The feet of Jesus will stand upon the Mount of Olives and it will split asunder, making a clean and holy place for the Paradise of God to rest. Zechariah 14:4. John saw the holy city “descending out of heaven from God”, and it landed upon the earth. Revelation 21:10.
(This is not at the second coming of Christ, but at the end of the thousand years, after Christ and the redeemed have judged the lost. Then Christ will come to this earth a third time to remake it in its Edenic beauty. Isaiah 35:1-10. 65:17-19. How wonderful to watch creation taking place! Christ will speak as He did in the beginning, and everything will spring forth before the eyes of the meek who are surrendered to their Saviour. The New Jerusalem, God’s holy city, will be the capital of the new earth, for the “tabernacle of God (will be) with men”. Revelation 21:3)
The redeemed will rejoice with joy unimaginable, for “God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:4.
If you can imagine the ark floating on the waters of the great deluge of Noah’s day, you will have a picture of what it will be like at the final judgment of God, except that God’s ark (Christ and the eternal city) will be surrounded by fire.
Those outside this spiritual Ark will be destroyed.
At the execution of the final judgment, the wicked will perish in the flames of God’s vengeance. It will have been a choice they made of their own free will. Just as Noah preached righteousness for one hundred an twenty years (Genesis 6:3), inviting men and women to enter the ark of mercy, so God’s faithful will have preached righteousness in Christ, inviting all who would accept Jesus as their Saviour.
This gospel message has been presented to the world for almost two thousand years. Soon the door of mercy will be shut and the opportunity for salvation will have passed.
Today is your opportunity. Tomorrow might be too late.
The Rainbow Covenant
“And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord, and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.
While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, “Be fruitfuil, and multiply, and replenish the earth.” Genesis 8:20-22. 9:1.
Noah’s sacrifice was offered in thankfulness to God for His protection, and it was accepted. Then God established His covenant with Noah, promising never to send another flood to destroy the inhabitants of the earth.
“And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you, and with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth. And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.” Genesis 9:10.11.
Some people think the great deluge was just a local flood, but this promise of God shows it was not something small and limited to one area. If it had been, the one hundred and twenty year limit of God’s grace, would have been sufficient time for Noah and his family to migrate to another part of the earth.
In the light of the many floods taking place currently in our world, and the horrifying tsunami that destroyed men, women, children and property in eleven countries, we either believe God’s promise related to world-wide destruction by the waters of the flood, or we must call Him a liar. Let us never commit this sin, but believe the God of the universe always speaks the truth.
God said, “This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations. I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth…. that the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant.” Genesis 9:12-16.
This promise of God was for you and me as well as for Noah and his family, and we too can rejoice when we see the rainbow.
Have you ever looked at a rainbow and thought of it as the sign of God’s promise never to destroy the earth by a flood again?
A rainbow consists of seven colours – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. It is caused by ‘refraction’ where millions of drops in a shower bend the rays of the sunbeams and sort out the various colours, arraying them in the sky before us. (The New Age Movement also has the symbol of a rainbow, but it does not have seven colours, sometimes it has four, five or six. God’s symbol contains the number seven because it represents fullness or completion)
God’s covenant means more than the words before us. It also promises that the earth itself will never be destroyed. Today we are living in a frightening era of earth’s history and the threat of annihilation is very real, however, God has promised it will remain. It will not be blown to a thousand pieces by an atomic bomb.
The return of Jesus will utterly destroy everything upon the earth, but not the earth itself. It will remain for eternity, as it is our home. “For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord; and there is none else.” Isaiah 45:18.
When Jesus was on earth in His Incarnation, He said, “The meek shall inherit the earth.” Matthew 5:5. These words are a repetition of the psalmist David, for he said, “Evildoers shall be cut off; but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth… the meek shall inherit the earth, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.” Psalm 37:9.11.
Before the coming of the Lord, we can expect to see many disasters, some natural and some instigated by man, but at Christ’s return, the whole earth will be in a turmoil. “And the heavens departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.” Revelation 6:14.
“And there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great….And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent (approximately 45 kilograms - 100 pounds), and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, for the plague thereof was exceeding great.” Revelation 16:18.20.21.
The prophet from days of old also spoke of the earth at this time, “Behold, the Lord maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upsidedown, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof…. The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled; for the Lord hath spoken this word.” Isaiah 24:1.3.
He continues, “The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.” Isaiah 24:19.20.
In another passage the prophet Isaiah wrote, “Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate; and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it, for the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light; the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity…. Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.” Isaiah 13:9-13.
This judgment of God at Christ’s return is not a denial of the rainbow covenant, it is the prediction that God will destroy those who refuse to repent of their sins.
However, it is not the final judgment. That will take place at the end of the thousand years. The lost will be resurrected from their graves and will receive the wages of their sins. “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life.” Romans 6:23.
It will be an eternal death, with no awakening.
They could have had the gift of eternal life, as Christ died for the sins of the world. But they did not make that decision. It did not seem attractive and they chose the things of the world. Eternal life seemed a long way off, and after all, didn’t everyone go to heaven?
No. Only those who choose to go.
Jesus is coming soon
Like Noah, the righteous have trusted in the promises of God and they will never die.
Instead, they will be taken up beyond the chaos, above the catastrophic waves and inferno of fires and devastation. At this time, “the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first, then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so will we ever be with the Lord.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16.17. Paul ends his words with, “wherefore comfort one another with these words.” v18.
Today an earthly, wooden ark could not save anyone. It would be destroyed in the cataclysm, obliterated in the unimaginable ruin.
Jesus, the Son of the living God, is spiritual. If we belong to Him, we are ‘in Him’, and He is the Ark of our safety. He can save to the uttermost.
Jesus says to you at this very moment, “Come unto Me… and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28. “And the Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come, let him that heareth say, ‘Come’. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” Revelation 22:17.
Are you thirsting for more than earthly material things?
More than entertainment – movies, dancing, partying and worldly pleasure?
Are you thirsty, but don’t know where you can get a drink of something else?
Jesus has living water.
In the days of Noah, the patriarch pled with the people to come into the ark. They laughed him to scorn, and all but Noah’s own family refused the call.
How many will accept Jesus’ invitation? Will you?
Today God is revealing His treasures in the desert
to increase faith in His Word
and as hard evidence for those who doubt
Deluge of Disaster
“And the Lord said unto Noah, ‘Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation…. For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days, and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.
And Noah did according unto all that the Lord commanded him….
And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth, in the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened, and the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.” Genesis 7:1.4.5.10.12.24.
This is the sacred record of the flood of Noah’s day.
Living in the twenty-first century, we can easily imagine the scene after watching the devastation of tsunamis in Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka and other countries, but multiplying the horror over the whole earth.
Our eyes would see gigantic waves sweep madly over valley and mountain alike, carrying rocks, stones and rubbish at enormous speeds. Twice daily the current of the sea would rise higher and higher up the rivers and valleys, spreading further and wider inland each time.
Progressively trees and houses would be swept away, thrusting the occupants into the depths of the twisting, turbulent debris.
Gripped by terror, wild beasts and human beings would struggle together for higher grounds. Some would bind their children and themselves upon powerful animals, knowing they would climb to the highest peaks to escape the rising waters. Others fastening themselves to tall trees on the hills or mountains, only to have the trees uprooted and hurled into the billows.
As the waters rise higher, the people flee for refuge to the loftiest heights. Man and beast struggle together for a foothold. In huge numbers they throng together, pushed into caves, swarming over the ground, until the waters rise and cover them. The fit and the unfit, old and young, those with strong muscles and fleet legs, all perish together.
Gaping fissures open up to swallow many of them. Huge waves, filled with large rocks and debris, smash across floating bodies, until their bones are crushed. Thousands of feet up to the highest peaks, people, animals and vegetation are washed into crevices and held tight.
Today we can see evidence of the flood over the whole earth and in very strange places.
On every continent and in numerous places are vast ‘fossil graveyards’ where creatures have been swept to their death in the millions. Land and sea creatures are all mixed together from different habitats and even different climatic zones lie in fossils beds – hippopotami, polar bears, marsupials, horses, plants, trees, crocodiles, dogs and lions – land creatures and creatures of the deep sea. Their bones are in a ‘fresh state’, neither worn, rolled nor gnawed, but splintered and broken.
“In Cypress for example, 610 metres (2000 feet) up Mt Bufeluento, is a huge deposit of pygmy hippopotamus. They are crushed and mixed with sea shells…. In India, the Siwulik Hills north of Delhi, are 610-914 metres (2000-3000 feet) high, and hippopotamus, ape, pig, rhinocerus, tortoise, elephant and ox, fill the interior of the hills to bursting.” Surprise Witness Bk 2. Jonathan Gray p49.
High on the mountains, at different altitudes, are numerous deep crevices filled with bones of animals from the plains, from the crags and caves, all driven together, smashed to pieces.
“Artefacts of men are found among the bones. Often birds and animals are mixed together with trees, washed into the fissures soon after they opened. This probably explains why the fissures never closed again.
In North and South America, Asia and Africa, animals of every kind died in great numbers; well-preserved fossil remains tell us they were buried almost immediately . There was mass extinction in all parts of the world simultaneously – and sudden burial. Islands in the Arctic Ocean are composed almost entirely of their bones.” Ibid p6.7.
In other places, the fossils are perfectly preserved, unbroken, even down to a fish giving birth or with food still in its mouth. Very delicate fossils are found, such as jellyfish and other creatures that would perish unless the burial was sudden and very fast.
